Upload your PDF and the converter rebuilds it as a DOCX file you can edit in Word. Paragraphs, bold and italic, tables, pictures and the page size are carried over. Fonts are mapped to the standard ones of the same width, so lines break in about the same places. A table that runs over several pages becomes one table, and two-column layouts stay in two columns.
If your PDF is a scan or a phone photo, it has no text inside. In that case the pages are read by text recognition, which uses neural recognition with a free recognizer as a fallback. The result comes out as editable text, so you can fix a word or copy a paragraph.
This is handy when you get a contract or a CV as a PDF and need to change it, when you want to fill in a form, or when you only need to copy a table. Most documents keep the same number of pages. Long scientific papers may gain a page, so check the page breaks before you print or send the file.
Need an older format? Old .doc, ODT and RTF are available from the same page, through DOCX. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, can be up to 100 MB, and is deleted automatically one hour after the conversion.
